Atlanta Band Trip – What to Pack for the Trip

Good day Spartan Band Members and Supporters

From Mr. Scott:

This post is for the parents who have a child going on the Atlanta band trip.  If you do not have a child going on the trip then you can disregard this update.

I have put together a suggested packing list which may help with what to pack for this trip.  Here is the following information:

Friday ~ comfortable clothing attire for half a day on the bus, then the aquarium, then the mall
Saturday ~ concert attire then change into green “I’m with the Band” t-shirt (or school approved kelly green WSMS t-shirt), shorts/pants, etc.
Sunday ~ comfortable clothing attire for CNN tour, World of Coca-Cola, and half the day in the bus

For Girls:
~ Comfortable clothes & shoes!
~ No halter tops, strapless tops or anything that is see-through
~ Shorts must be of appropriate length which is slightly above the knee or lower (no short-shorts)
~ Swimwear: if a 2-piece is worn, then a shirt must be worn over the 2-piece (No see-through bathing suits)
~ Concert Attire: black top, black bottom or a black dress (*when seated the hemline of skirt or dress should fall below the knee); black dress shoes
~ Shoes: comfortable walking shoes
~ Toiletries: shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, brush, etc.

For Boys:
~ Comfortable clothes & shoes!
~ No sleeveless loose-fitting tops (i.e., muscle shirts) or shirts that are see-through
~ Swimwear:  mid-thigh or longer shorts; No speedo’s for boys.
~ Concert Attire: white button-down long sleeve dress shirt and black pants with dark colored shoes
~ Shoes: comfortable walking shoes
~ Toiletries: shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, brush, etc.

Weather: looks to be in the mid 70’s to low 60’s for 3 trip days; some rain is forecast so a rain jacket or small poncho is recommended; bring sunscreen just in case it’s overcast yet bright Saturday at Six Flags (we will be there from about 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.)

Prescription Medication: must be clearly labeled with the child’s name and medication name

Electronics: remember charge cords; WIFI is available on the bus; think portable & pocket size, No gaming consoles;  these will stay on the bus at times so Bring at your own risk
*Card & board games are welcome

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any additional questions.  I hope this list will help give everyone a basic idea of what to pack/bring for the trip.

See you all bright and early Friday morning.  REMEMBER:  The bus leaves at 6:00 a.m. so please try to be at the school by 5:30 or 5:45 a.m.
